Plastic solutions for sustainable garden construction

Our products for garden construction and public spaces are developed with a focus on ease of use, sustainability, and aesthetics. They are resistant to moisture, UV radiation, and pollution and require no maintenance. This provides a long-lasting solution for both private and public applications.

Ekoshield^® is a flexible plastic strip that is easily woven into double wire mesh panels or wire fencing. This creates a neat, low-maintenance garden boundary with more privacy and a tidy appearance.

For controlled root growth management and protection of underground infrastructure, Ekon supplies durable root barriers and casting edges made of HDPE or PP. By using wear-resistant, chemically resistant plastics such as HDPE and PP, these solutions have a long lifespan, even with intensive outdoor use. The thick plastic foil (1 to 2 mm) prevents root uplift and protects paving, sewer systems, and pipes from damage caused by root penetration.

To promote the growth of young plantings, PE casting edges are installed. They provide a clear boundary for tree pits or planting beds and contribute to efficient water distribution.

Our root barriers and casting edges are supplied on rolls and are easy to process. In addition to standard products, biodegradable variants are also available for projects with a temporary or ecological character.

Many roads cross vulnerable natural areas, creating danger for the fauna in that region. To protect small animals such as amphibians, reptiles, and small game, we supply custom-made plastic fauna plates. These plates form a temporary or permanent barrier along infrastructure or natural areas and guide the animals to a tunnel where they can safely cross the road. Due to the anti-reflective surface of the plate, drivers are not blinded, even on curves.

Our fauna plates are delivered in natural colors, are lightweight, and easy to install. They are sustainably made from recycled plastic, resistant to moisture and chemical influences, and do not rot. After their long service life, they are fully recyclable.

Ekon is part of Lankhorst Engineered Products in Sneek. Circular bank protection systems are produced here from recycled plastic.
