The Lankhorst Clearance Protection system is made from a high impact resistant, marine-grade polyurethane(PU) or polyethylene (PE) and is designed to provide clearance between two cables or pipelines when they cross each other, as an alternative to concrete mattresses or rock dumping.
The design consists of two cylindrical half-shells that interlock securely around the pipeline or cable and is available in a wide range of diameters, lengths and clearances. The interlocking mechanism not only ensures alignment but also simplifies handling and placement offshore. The strapping system is embedded in design-specific recesses, ensuring smooth outer contours and avoiding interference with surrounding infrastructure. These features contribute to structural integrity, hydrodynamic stability, and ease of inspection during and after installation.
The Lankhorst Clearance Protection system is engineered to integrate directly into normal pipe-lay operations. Unlike traditional solutions, it does not require rock dumping or the mobilisation of separate support vessels. Which significantly reduces offshore exposure, installation time, and project cost.
The half shells are light weight, safe to handle and fast to install. To meet the requirements of different offshore applications and environments, the Clearance Protection System has been subjected to extensive testing and trials to ensure optimum performance in the demanding marine environment. (Specific material formulations with custom properties can also be made available. A range of testing can also be carried out at Lankhorst’s in house testing facilities on both the material and also the end product. Demonstration of the bending radius of the product can be executed as required).
