Comprehensive In-House Testing
At Lankhorst, quality and reliability are embedded in every stage of our production process. From raw material selection to final product validation, our quality control team ensures that each component meets the highest standards. Using our fully calibrated in-house laboratory and testing equipment, we continuously evaluate material integrity, mechanical properties, and overall performance to guarantee safe and durable offshore solutions.
Throughout manufacturing, we conduct extensive tests to assess the physical and chemical properties of raw materials and production samples, ensuring their consistency and suitability for demanding offshore applications. These tests include humidity checks, melt flow index measurements, tensile properties and charpy impact tests.
Additionally, as required by the client, Lankhorst can carry out a number of tests in house on prototype products during a project. These tests can include impact tests, fit up tests, friction force resistance tests, stinger roller simulations, and bending radius.
Testing Rigs
Lankhorst operates a stinger roller testing rig on-site, designed to replicate the intense loads experienced during S-Lay pipe-laying operations, with capacities up to 30 metric tons. This test rig ensures rigorous testing of product design and material selection, verifying their performance under field conditions.
Besides the stinger roller testing rig, Lankhorst has two impact test rigs, allowing us to simulate the effect of dropped objects and heavy impact loads up to 5.8kL and 50 kJ. The rigs can be used to assess the effect of a large impact or dropped object on the end-products.
Lankhorst offers the opportunity to hire these testing rigs along with expert supervision of an engineer for your own testing requirements. Please contact us for more information or to discuss how our testing expertise can benefit your project.
